Michelle Martinez – Kids Mindfulness Academy. Michelle is a Mindfulness Coach with 35 years of experience teaching elementary school children. A retired educator from New York, Michelle is excited to bring her expertise in teaching and passion for mindfulness to the youth of New Milford. She dedicates this chapter of her life to inspiring children to be their true, authentic selves, connect to their uniqueness, and unlock their healing potential. With a kindness matters approach to life, Michelle empowers her students to believe anything is possible when you believe in your dreams. The journey of dreaming and achieving begins with being kind to your mind. Therefore, Michelle aims to help children cultivate a mindset of kindness, positivity, and optimism. 

Throughout her career in education, Michelle has taught her students how to incorporate mindfulness tools into their daily lives to develop self-awareness. Staying focused on the present moment, connecting with nature, and adopting an attitude of gratitude. Michelle also believes that learning to choose positive thoughts, and actions towards oneself and others helps to create an environment of positivity that improves both mental health and relationships.

Michelle is a coach who specializes in mindfulness. Additionally, she has received training in energy healing and has certifications in Reiki 1 & 2 and Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as EFT tapping. She has experience facilitating Reiki Circles and providing one-on-one sessions for Reiki and EFT Tapping. Her sessions help individuals manage physical pain, reduce anxiety and stress, and feel more calm, balanced, and at peace. 

Michelle earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1986 from Marymount Manhattan College and a Master of Science in Education in 1990 from Hunter College. She also became an ordained minister in the Order of Melchizedek in 2022.  Michelle resides in New Milford, where she has developed a love for the great outdoors. She also enjoys yoga, Zumba, and inspirational books on spiritual growth. Inspired by the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, who said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world,” Michelle aspires to be a guiding light in our community by promoting positivity and empowering others to let their light shine.
